Pump Station Work Throughout New Hampshire

Community water system in Campton, New Hampshire

A community water system in Campton, New Hampshire, serving 25 homes, faced challenges in monitoring water levels in a remote tank located far from the pumphouse. Without a direct monitoring system, operators relied on estimated usage and a time clock to run the well pump for a set period each day. However, water usage varied depending on the day of the week and the season, leading to inefficiencies. At times, the tank would overflow, wasting both water and the electricity required to pump it. In other instances, the tank would run dry before pump issues were detected, leaving residents without water.

To resolve these issues, Pump Systems installed a solar-powered radio transmitter from Remote Control Technology, along with an MPE submerged level probe and a backup battery. This system now provides continuous monitoring and automatic control of the well pump based on real-time water levels in the storage tank. Additionally, a Sensaphone autodialer was integrated to alert operators to critical conditions such as low tank level conditions, power loss, low pumphouse temperatures, and unauthorized entry.

With this upgrade, the New Hampshire community is benefiting from improved system reliability, reduced operational costs, and significant water conservation. By preventing overflows and optimizing pump operation, homeowners now have a more efficient and sustainable water supply, ensuring peace of mind and long-term savings.
